Clash of the Titans Out on DVD Today!!

Clash of the Titans starring Sam Worthington

Clash of the Titans starring Sam Worthington

“Release the Kraken!” Oh, how I love it when Zeus says that. And yes, I have been accused of geekery every now and again, but believe me, there are far worse vices than love of mythology.

The Clash of the Titans reboot starring Sam Worthington as demigod Perseus, Liam Neeson as the mighty, philandering Zeus himself, Ralph “I love to play villains like Voldemort etc…” Fiennes as crusty old Hades, and last but not least, the gorgeous Gemma Arterton of Bond Girl fame as Io.

I thoroughly enjoy men in skirts, and my DVD collection just would not be complete without the new and improved version of Clash of the Titans. I will place it right next to my old 1981 version. And for the record, I really enjoyed the remake. I thought it was slick and dazzling in all the right places. Despite the many nay sayers who liked to say, “BOO!”, I recommend it. You’ll learn a little about mythology if nothing else. And of course you’ll get to replay that line by Zeus, “Release the Kraken!” as many times as you want! Come on, admit it. You secretly love that line! I know I do!

Clash of the Titans is available practically everywhere today. Are you going to get a copy? Well, get Kraken! :D

Clash of the Titans Is On!

So, how stoked am I? Almost too stoked for words! Clash of the Titans is on! (As I mentioned in a previous post!)

Sam Worthington, who played the new and improved Terminator opposite Christian Bale (and who stole Mr. Bale’s thunder, I might add), is slated to play the legendary hero Perseus. Good choice! I say! And none other than the delectably villainous Ralph Fiennes (who plays the sinister and evil Voldemort with such panache and finesse in the Harry Potter franchise) is set to play Hades, while the epic Liam Neeson will portray none other than Zeus himself! There is also a complete pantheon of gods and goddesses in this movie, and a slew of mythical beasts, so this should be a surefire piece of entertainment. It’s in the hands of director Louis Leterrier, who directed Liv Tyler and Edward Norton in 2008’s Incredible Hulk, and Transporter 2. I loved the 1981 version of Clash of the Titans as a kid. It could very well be responsible for my love of Greek mythology. I can’t wait for the remake in 2010! Shades of Scorpius! and Great Zeus! and all that!

~P.S.~ Sam Worthington is also set to play the hero in James Cameron’s highly anticipated visionistic flick Avatar. A movie that is most definitely on my Movies To See List!

Clash of the Titans…..Again! Yeah!

Posted by Kyra on Apr 9, 2009 in Buzz!, Did You Know?, Good Movie Alert!, Movie Comments, Word Of The Day

Lesson learned. I should just write about this s*** when I think of it. Then y’all would really think I’m an oracle! Rule#1 - Stop procrastinating, Kyra! Honestly! Anyways…………………

So, I was thinking a couple of months ago after watching The Clash of the Titans (you know the old 1981 movie where a young Harry Hamlin played the hero Perseus? An even younger Maggie Smith of Harry Potter fame played the goddess Thetis, and Laurence Olivier was king (he actually played Zeus, too!)), I thought, “Geez, I wonder when they are going to do a remake of The Clash of the Titans?” Well, I need wait no more! Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes(also of Harry Potter fame!) are tapped to play Zeus and Hades, respectively in the new and improved version of The Clash of the Titans due out in 2010! I can’t begin to tell you how stoked I am to live in this era of movie making! I loved the original movie — the 80’s puppetry, the 80’s acting and the 80’s script — loved it! It was about the gods! And I dig nothing if not mythology! So, you know this movie is gonna rock! They’ve got some great actors on board, gods and Greek mythology, and great CGI at their disposal. (Maybe WETA?) What could go wrong? Unless they’re completely clueless and their work ethic is like a banker’s on Sunday, it’ll be a cake walk! My youngling will be ecstatic to see Pegasus fly! Are you as excited as I am to see this flick? Let me know!
